2011 Tour of Britain

I visited 51 islands in 2011, 39 of which were new to me.   My year started with Two Tree Island in Essex in February and finished with St Mary's Island, Chatham on the opposite side of the Thames Estuary on Christmas Eve.  I think this will turn out to be the year in my life when I visited most islands for the first time.  My favourite islands were Llanddwyn, Bardsey, Canna and Raasay.  I am currently planning my campaign for 2012, which hopefully will include several tidal islands off Pembrokeshire and Gower and several of the Inner Hebrides but will start next month with a revisit to Hayling and Portsea.  Watch this space.
