Illaunnamona is a very small low lying grass covered tidal island between Omey Island and the mainland of County Galway near the village of Claddaghduff. It is no more than about 40 metres in diameter. When I visited on my way across to Omey on a sunny morning in May 2017 the thrift and bird's-foot trefoil were in flower.
