Inishcoole (Inis Cúil) in Irish is a small tidal island located 400 metres from the shore at Magheraclogher, which is a townland near the village of Bunbeg on the west coast of County Donegal. It is apparently known locally as Skull Island but I don't know why. It is a pleasant island covered in long grass. The island is criss-crossed by paths and when I visited in early September 2017 purple scabious, bird's foot trefoil and harebells were in flower. The island is about 200 metres long by 100 metres wide.
