Island 199 - Kirk Ness, Whalsay, Shetland

Kirk Ness is a small island linked to the north coast of Whalsay by a tombolo, which has been artificially stabilised and a road built on top of it.  Surprisingly enough the only building on the island is a kirk!  This is Whalsay's parish church.  It was open when I visited in May 2014 and June 2017.

Orange mustard is a strange colour to choose but I think it works quite well in this situation
