Holm of Nibon is a small uninhabited tidal island located about 50 metres from the shore at Nibon, which is a small hamlet on the west coast of Shetland Mainland. A much larger island called the Isle of Nibon lies 200 metres to the west of Holm of Nibon. Holm of Nibon is round and about 100 metres in diameter. It is a rock covered with grass, which is grazed by the local sheep. There is a small square stone enclosure on the top of the island. When I visited on a misty afternoon in late August 2019 hawkweed, tormentil, devil's bit scabious, self-heal and bird's-foot trefoil were all in flower. I visited about 2 hours after low tide and the island was still accessible but less than an hour later I watched the tide come back in and cut the island off.
