Island 24 - Glimps Holm, Orkney

Glimps Holm is an uninhabited island located to the south west of Lamb Holm and to the north of Burray.   It is connected to Lamb Holm by Churchill Barrier No 2 and to Burray by Churchill Barrier No 3.  It is about 1,200 metres from south west to north east and 700 metres from north west to south east.  It is aptly named - one glimpse and you are over it and heading on to the next island.  It isn't particularly scenic and the highest point on the island is 35 metres above sea level.  It is covered in rough grass.

Glimps Holm - I told you it wasn't very scenic!

The same view as the one above but a few hours later at low tide when the blockship is more visible
